Lisa Luchtenberg
I am Lisa Luchtenberg (she/her, 1993), co-network leader of Network USP Inclusive for Utrecht University (UU). I work for the UU as part of the department for Participatie & Banenafspraak (Participation Act). Here I am engaged in developing new activities for the onboarding of employees with disabilities, communication, and quality assurance of supervision. At the end of 2017, I started at the UU via the Participation Act. The first 2,5 years in another position. As someone with a visual disability, I soon noticed that there was a lot of involvement, but also a lot of ignorance. For example, prejudice and inaccessibility of systems or buildings. That has an impact on you. As do – unintentionally – painful regulations or policies. This requires taking action. Besides taking action through my position, this also gave me the drive to join in setting up Network USP Inclusive. Work is an important element of life for me. This includes equal opportunities in work and pay. I believe that diversity and inclusion enriches an organisation and makes it better able to achieve organisational goals. I strive for a workplace where everyone can function autonomously according to their own abilities. For this, accessibility (physical, digital, and social) and autonomy are important conditions for me. As a network leader, these are my driving forces and areas of focus. You can always approach me to spar about these themes or share your struggles, success stories, or ideas about working with a disability at the UU or at the USP. As an employee network, we are there for everyone and each other. Because an accessible and inclusive Utrecht Science Park is a powerful and inspiring working environment for everyone.
